Between the warmer weather and the plethora of backyard pools in metro Phoenix, it’s never too soon to introduce your kids to the water, and get them into swimming lessons.
ABCs of drowning prevention
William Benedict, a Phoenix Fire Department spokesman, said the most important aspects to remember are the ABCs of drowning prevention, according to an azcentral.com interview.
The A stands for adult supervision, the B for barriers around water and C for classes, both swimming and CPR.
“There is just no reason that people shouldn’t be going out and getting CPR lessons, especially if you have kids,” Benedict said.
CPR classes are available weekly. For more information, call 602-277-1500.
