Parenting can be challenging. We have to fight off any number of obstacles and difficulties every day to make sure our kids are safe and generally happy.

Perseverance is required and patience is basically a mandatory quality for us to master. Well, we have two bald eagles currently giving a master class in parenting against the odds.

The Knoxville News Sentinel brings us the story of Mr. President and The First Lady, the eagles battling a storm to protect their eggs.

I mean, you’d be hard pressed to find a clearer example of parental sacrifice than The First Lady literally weathering the storm to give her baby a chance at life. You can watch the live feed here.

From the Knoxville paper:

Mr. President and The First Lady, a bald eagle pair nesting at the U.S. National Arboretum in Washington, D.C., hunkered down in the snow and cold to save their two eggs, which are expected to hatch later this month.

Godspeed, eagle parents. Thanks for the reminder that sacrifices must be made and are well worth enduring.
